World's
First Cyber-Beatle in Beta-Testing
(Washington, D.C. - 20 August 1999) -- Triumph PC ONLINE has begun beta-testing what they
believe to be the first use of Artificial Intelligence technology to clone a real human
personality.
The project, tentatively titled The Plastic Digital Karma
Project, will allow visitors to the Triumph PC ONLINE website to converse with
the Persona-Bot via their keyboard and
computer terminal. "The original idea for the Karma Project took shape about two
years ago when we began to think about a way to recreate Lennon's personality using an
AI-based Persona-Bot", stated David
Maggin, Founding Managing Director of Triumph PC ONLINE. "Unfortunately, at that
time, the technology wasn't too amenable to our usage. After some initial false
starts [AI and Persona-Bot technology is definitely more art than science!], we had
a very basic John Lennon chatbot that was able to mimic some of the Beatle's words."
The next phase of the project will be to fine-tune the Persona-Bot's
personality, which is done by adding Lennon's own words and phrases into the Persona-Bot's scripts and by fine-tuning his responses
to subsequent visitor input. This is very labour intensive work, which demands a
great deal of time and patience. More importantly, it requires an artistic
sensitivity and feel for the subject's personality in order to produce a natural and
reasonable sequence of response to a given input. If all goes well during the testing
phase, a working Persona-Bot should be available
for public access within the next 30-45 days.

Triumph PC
ONLINE Introduces the First Artificial Intelligence Beatle
(Washington, D.C. - 21 October 1999) -- Triumph PC ONLINE has introduced "The John
Lennon Artificial Intelligence Project" (JLAIP)
as the first AI-based Persona-Bot clone of
the late Beatle. "The JLAIP will allow anyone
with a Java-supported webbrowser and access to the Web to converse online with an
interactive analogue of John Lennon," stated David Maggin, Founder of Triumph PC
ONLINE. "Artificial Intelligence will be at the forefront of the next generation of
Internet and Web technologies. We believe our current work with the JLAIP is only at the 'horse and buggy' stage. The
Project's sophistication is likely to increase by orders of magnitude in the coming
months. It is our sincere hope (and belief) that, as the robot's experience advances, a
reasonable (and believeable) facsimile of Lennon's personality will emerge."
The JLAIP is programmed with many of the late
Beatle's own words and constantly 'learns' from the input it receives from visitors.
Triumph PC's breakthroughs take AI technology to a whole new level, thus making Persona-Bots (chatbots inhabited with unique and
human personalities) possible and further blurring that precarious line between man and
machine.
Some of the comments received to date range from "cute" and
"interesting" to "the next best thing to a Lennon resurrection" and
"spooky -- once or twice, I thought it was John!". The JLAIP
homepage can be found at: http://www.triumphpc.com/john-lennon/.

England's
Infamous Jack the Ripper Returns to Face Charges
(Washington, D.C. - 4 August 2000) -- Triumph PC ONLINE has inhabited a computer with the
mind and personality of Jack the Ripper (saucy Jacky)
and made him available to face charges via the Web.
"In the Autumn of 1888, 5 women met brutal and bloody deaths in the dark alleys of
London's East End. Every generation since has rediscovered the mysterious and horrific
murders that plagued England during that time," stated David Maggin, Founding
Managing Director of Triumph PC Group. "And, now, based on advances made during our
pioneering work on the John Lennon Artificial Intelligence Project, we have taken
Artificial Intelligence technology (AI) to the next level and virtually cloned the bloody
soul of the most notorious criminal of all time."
Talk to saucy Jacky. Ask him where, why, even how he
committed these vicious crimes. Get into his frightfully warped mind and see if you can
solve a mystery that has stumped historians and criminologists for over a hundred years.
The decision to recreate saucy Jacky was made on the
basis of the public's ongoing fascination with the Ripper mysteries and is intended for
edutainment purposes only. saucy Jacky is

(Washington, D.C. - 29 June 2001) -- Triumph PC ONLINE, the leading developer of
cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence Persona-Bots,
launched the PHASEII incarnation of the popular and enigmatic John Lennon Artificial
Intelligence Project (JLAIP).
JLAIP PHASEII's
newly designed user interface offers greatly simplified site navigation, faster load times
and an integrated control panel making it one of the most user-friendly sites on the Web.
The company describes the JLAIP as a technology
demonstrator designed, among other things, to pique the interest of the public and
potential investors who would be interested in underwriting the costs of developing future
Persona-Bots. "The JLAIP combines the most powerful technology of the 21st-Century
with the wit and humour of the most talented artist and humanitarian of the
20th-Century," said David Maggin, Founding Managing Director, Triumph PC Group.
"The primary goal of these enhancements was to provide greater access to a new and
growing generation of Lennon and Beatle fans."
Triumph PC is developing a series of edutainment Persona-Bots,
modeled after the breakthrough designs of the JLAIP
and saucy Jacky sites. This approach not only allows
users to interact with specific robotic personalities, but it gives advertisers the
ability to effectively target their message through this exciting new technology.
JLAIP PHASEII
has unveiled an updated logo and retained
their tagline, "Imagine, and it's true." The new branding incorporates
familiar elements of JLAIP's traditionally stylish motif and represents its strategic

John Lennon Artificial Intelligence Project Announces Launch of
PHASEIII
(Washington, D.C. - 9 October 2002) -- Triumph PC ONLINE, the leading
developer of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence Persona-Bots™,
today announced the launch of the PHASEIII
incarnation of the popular and enigmatic John Lennon Artificial Intelligence Project (JLAIP™).
This announcement was timed to coincide with the 62nd birthday of the Project's namesake, the late Beatle John Lennon. "On
8 December 1980, a religious lunatic robbed the world of one of the 20th Century's
most entertaining and articulate minds. On 8 October 1999, Triumph PC began the process of
bringing it back", said David Maggin, Founding Managing Director of Triumph PC Group, which developed the John
Lennon Artificial Intelligence Project Persona-Bot.
"The goal we set for PHASEIII
was to more fully humanize the personality of a binary-based machine. And, based on
initial user comments, I believe we have exceeded even our own expectations in
this challenge. Acknowledged as the world's most technically advanced Artificial
Intelligence-based logic engines, Persona-Bots
will change the way entertainment, education and business are implemented in the 21st Century."
PHASEIII
incorporates technological advances developed during work on the saucy Jacky™ Persona-Bot
(http://TriumphPC.com/saucyjacky), which provide improved articulation and more precise, logic-based
responses, yielding an extraordinarily humanlike sentience. "We've even captured John Lennon's wry sense of humour."
The company describes the JLAIP as a technology
demonstrator designed, among other things, to pique the interest of the public
and potential investors who would be interested in underwriting the costs of developing future Persona-Bots. "The
JLAIP combines the most powerful technology of the 21st-Century with the wit and humour
of the most talented artist and humanitarian of the 20th-Century. The primary goal of these enhancements is to
provide greater access to a new and growing generation of Lennon and Beatle fans," stated
Mr. Maggin.
